Work groups

Second Conference of the Forum, Galicia, 2009

The general work groups themes were:

The session of each work group was organized as follows:

  • Global vision: introductory presentation by 2 experts of each sector's perspectives, with a focus on its drivers and on the technological and entrepreneurial capacities required for competitiveness on the global scale. (First session: wednesday 1 April, 10:30am-01:30pm)

  • "Elevator pitch": 5 minute presentations by participants on an experience or project. This methodology is applied, for instance, in presentations given for investors. It consists in presenting the main ideas of a proposal, offer, etc., in record time, thereby highlighting its value. (First session)

  • Open Space to form sub-groups, once the themes of interest to participants have been identified. The objective is to identify possible work agreements to move forward, such as R&D projects, technical assistance agreements, technology transfer, joint business opportunities, etc. The work in sub-groups will take place on the afternoons of the first and second day.
To identify the sub-themes for these groups, the Open Space methodology was applied: it is based on self-organisation and flexibility, insuring the utmost efficiency and interaction. This way, participants had full control of the agenda and of the sub-groups formed, and also the opportunity to ask questions and resolve the issues under analysis, in real time. (Wednesday & Thursday afternoon, followed by a poster session on Friday)
